Mali is a West African country.
Since 20 February 2023, during the first plenary session of the extraordinary session of the National Transition Committee (CNT), six bills have been adopted, including the law on the administrative reorganisation of Mali.
With the adoption of this administrative reorganisation bill, Mali now has one district, Bamako, with 19 administrative regions, 156 circles, i.e. 96 more, 466 arrondissements, i.e. 136 more, 819 communes, i.e. 71 new communes, 12,712 villages, and finally, the communes of the district are now called "Arrondissements" and there are 10 of them.
